Description
Arc flash is a phenomenon where a flashover of electric current leaves its intended path and travels through the air from one conductor to another, or to the ground. The results are often violent, and when a human is in close proximity to the arc flash, serious injury and even death can occur. Arc flash suits protect electrical workers from serious injuries or illnesses caused by electrical and other common workplace hazards. To protect themselves from injury or even death, workers should wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as their last line of defense. The arc flash suit is arguably the most important component of PPE as it protects the majority of the worker’s body from the effects of an arc flash.
