The Clean agent fire extinguisher contains HFC-236fa clean agent (low pressure) as a fire extinguishing agent, which is an HFC (Hydro Fluorocarbon). HFC-236fa is a colorless, odorless, electrically non-conductive ‘clean agent’ which has zero ODP (Ozone depletion potential) and low GWP (Global Warming Potential). It leaves behind no residue and provides good visibility during discharge. It is suitable for class A, class B, and class C fires. HFC-236fa clean agent is environmentally friendly and is suitable for protecting sensitive equipment in computer/server rooms, data storage areas, CNC machineries, operation theatres, medical diagnostic rooms, laboratories, chemical storage rooms, archives, art galleries, bank vaults, etc. HFC-236fa has been approved by the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) for commercial and industrial use under the EPA’s SNAP (Significant New Alternative Policy) program. It is also listed under the UL (Underwriters Laboratories). The body of the fire extinguisher is made of 1.6 mm thickness MS sheet and is powder-coated. The clean agent is stored at 9kgf/cm2. The valve assembly comprises of a squeeze lever, pressure gauge, and a discharge nozzle. In case of any fire accident use PASS – Pull the safety pin, Aim the nozzle towards the fire base, Squeeze the squeeze lever, and attack the fire in a sweeping motion. The fire extinguisher is a multipurpose type, simple to use with a pressure gauge to indicate a healthy working condition. The extinguisher is available in various capacities like 2kgs, 4kgs, 6kgs, and 9kgs. The fire extinguisher is built as per BIS standards. The shelf life of the clean agent is 5 years, and that of the extinguisher is 10 years (IS 15683:2018).
